I grew up playing classical piano, singing in a boys choir and playing the cornet in a brass band. But as a teenager rock and pop music seemed more interesting so I joined a few bands and had fun with that. As a result I would say my style is rooted in classical tradition but with a focus on musical textures and timbre – orchestration meets electronic sound design. I care more about the sound than the notes.
Here are a few examples of what kind of music I’m working on right now – not attached to any particular project.
Twilight – strings and electronics
Fog in the city – piano, strings and electronics
Undertow – strings and electronics
